Twittable Cold Emails
Whether UR young or old, the point is that the optimal length of an email message is five sentences. All you should do is explain who you are, what you want, why you should get it, and when you need it by.
Guy Kawasaki
When it goes about cold email templates, rarely can it be related to being “twittable cold emails”. Of course, there is no sense to write and enjoy email templates that take within 140 characters including saying hello and goodbye.
But, if we take the “twittability” feature for being as brief and sensible as possible, we would find a whole bunch of great templates that would only mean you respect your prospect’s time and value their attention enough to not overload them with unnecessary information and page-long introduction.
In this article I will share some best twittable cold emails template I personally use or have used and noticed some significant results as for open and response rate as well as for converting leads to actual customers.
Hey {FirstName},
My name is Oleg. I found your startup on AngelList and really liked the idea.
Quick question: what are your future plans as for attracting new users?I though I may have some ideas for you. Let me know what to you think.
Thanks,
Oleg
Keeping it short has always been one of the main one of the sales and marketing commandments starting with Claude Hopkins and ending with Guy Kawasaki. It saves lots of time for both sender and receiver and still carries the main points that should be said in order to get an answer. Make it as brief as this template and you will be surprised what results it can bring.
I know what some of you are going to say now: “There is no shorter way to say what I’m going to say”. Well, there is. And you should face it if you want to increase your sales and establish better relationship with your leads, customers and partners.
Here is example of another cold email template that works really well for us:
Looking for a sales contact
Hi {FirstName},
I’m trying to figure out who is in charge of sales at your company.
Would you mind pointing me towards the right person? Thanks,
Oleg
or this way:
Hi {FirstName},
Briefly: we want to bring you more customers by providing you high quality warm leads, we have a system that allows you to see who is using your competitor’s SDKs and alert when someone just started or dropped using them.
Can you please add me on skype (stream-soft) so we could discuss the details?
Thanks,
Oleg
This type of templates is one of the most strongly recommended about sales and recruiting professionals.
Ok, these were initial email templates to share. However, I’ve got several more when it comes to follow up. Being in charge of a startup that automates follow up process, I don’t have another choice except for knowing everything about the most efficient and reply-provoking follow up canvas ever.
In this article I’m going to expose only some of them that I consider to be extremely helpful when dealing with cold prospects. Here is one of them:
Hi {FirstName},
Just wanted to follow up on email I sent you few days ago.
Would really appreciate to hear what you think. And if you are not the right person, I would be really thankful if you can point me in the right direction.
Thanks,
Oleg
Or this piece of twittable cold email:
Hi {FirstName},
I didn’t hear back from you last week.
Please, let me know if you’re interested in learning how to increase your sales using smart automation tools and get 4 moth free access to our software in return for your feedback ($280 value).
Thanks,
Oleg
And another one:
Hi {FirstName},
I just wanted to circle back on my email I sent last week on automating your outbound\inbound sales outreach.
Let me know what makes sense as a next step, if any?
Thanks,
Oleg
And one more (too much of them, huh?):
Hi {FirstName},
I just wanted to ask if you are going to claim your free trial?
Thanks,
Oleg
And finally the last one:
Hi {FirstName},
I didn’t hear back from you last week when I was looking for the appropriate person in sales. That’s not a problem.
If this person is you, let me know how your calendar looks. If not, who would be the right person?
Thanks,
Oleg
Or this one that actually suggest you pay for your prospect’s time the value of a cup of coffee, but your investments will payoff with the very few customers acquired in regards to the demo:
Hi Jeffery,
I’m writing an article on how outbound B2B sales is done in real world nowadays.
I was looking for experts in this space and found your profile.
Is it any chance you can share your experience during brief 20 minutes call?
In return I’ll send you a cup of coffee via paypal :)
Thanks,
Oleg
As you can see, all these templates are super-short but are able to express your key questions or call-to-action within one small email whether it’s a pitch or a follow up. Try this and let me know if the results were as fascinating!
